Biography

Margaret's awareness and love of the beauty in nature began in early childhood, where endless hours were spent exploring the English countryside. It was a foundation for artistic expression, eventually becoming a passion and career.

Always sketching, painting came later after the family moved to the United States. A secretarial career provided the opportunity to travel extensively, with continuous art education both in the United States and Europe. Her last position was with the US Foreign Service in Geneva, after which she returned to the United States in 1970 to settle in Phoenix, Arizona.

An established artist and art teacher for many years, her paintings express freedom through structure, compositional strength, and exceptionally clear tones of color. Her wrokshops attract serious artists, with enthusiasm being a contagious ingredient in learning basic and dynamic use of design, value and color.

Margaret's artwork has been exhibited at the El Tovar in the Grand Canyon over the past ten years. From oils, watercolor and acrylic, original paintings have been created and purchased by patrons and collectors around the world. At present, her artwork is on display at the W.I.P. Gallery and Geraniums on Fifth, in Scottsdale.

Her philosophy is summed up by Gibran in The Prophet-
                                               "Work is love made visible."
